Welcome to Broadus Bees! Our mission is to create a sustainable business through honeybee products, hive installation and maintenance, and educating the public about the critical role bees play in producing the food we eat. James Broadus Wilkie V, Owner & Master Beekeeper, has had a fascination with bees and their importance to the environment ever since he graduated with a wildlife biology degree from Western State College University in Colorado. One of his main goals is to educate people about the importance of bees in the production of our food. Jimmy feels like its his responsibility to give back to the very thing that gives us life, bees!!! A key to Broadus Bee’s success is pure, raw, unadulterated honey made from bees pollinating a wide variety of flowering plants in Bend, Oregon. I have a couple different groups of bees here in Bend that I manage and it is where the Bend Bee Pollen, Bend Wildflower, Bend Lavender from bees pollinating lavender in SE Bend, and the High Desert Buckwheat honey come from. I also have other varietals from Medford, Oregon including a raw white clover which which is a whipped honey and a farmers market favorite! All the honey I sell is flavored by what the bees are pollinating, nothing else. Broadus Bees also carries lip balm made with local beeswax, honey soap made with our local Bend Wildflower, and a propolis throat spray that helps with immunity and soar throats and coughs.
